DESCRIPTION:A medium-sized splay, generally splashed in a manner befitting such a raucous and aggressive bird. White and limey envelope. A varied nucleus, usually brownish-gray, but some attractive yellows or even orange, tones may be present if fruit or berries are in season.

FOOD:Virtually omnivorous, this bird eats insects, slugs, worms, fruit, berries and the young and eggs of other species.

DISTRIBUTION:East of the Rockies.

COLLECTION:In recent years this splay has been most successfully collected on the visors of helmets worn by trailbikers frequenting wooded country normally inaccessible to the average automobile
